Get the credit you deserve! Apply your credits and prior learning toward a degree.

Get Credit for Previous Education

Have you earned credits from another college or university? Do you already have a degree and want to earn an advanced degree? Up to 75% of these credits may transfer into a degree program at NAU Canada Online.

We have lots of options to help you get credit for your previous post-secondary experience, including individual course assessment, block transfer, post-diploma, or second degrees. Please Note: Previous education credits may be subject to time limits

Transfer Credit Evaluation

As part of our enrollment advising services we offer free transfer credit evaluation – this way you have an idea of how your previous coursework might transfer (even if you did not complete a diploma or degree).

You will need to request a formal transcript from each school that you attend and provide this to your enrollment to your enrollment advisor. (You may provide an unofficial transcript for preliminary review – but they will not be officially recognized until you submit an official transcript).

Get Credit for Work & Life Experience

Lessons learned outside the classroom are relevant and valued at NAU Canada Online. Working professionals might be able to apply relevant experience towards credit. Submit a portfolio with information about your employer’s in-house training and other professional and/or industry-recognized certification for consideration with our Prior Learning Assessment.

Qualified Prior Learning Assessment

As a professional in your field, you have gained valuable experience, training, and real-world knowledge. For this reason, certificates, corporate training, business and professional experience may also be considered as transferable credits into an NAU Canada Online degree program

The Prior Learning Assessment is a way of assessing your experiential, non-formal learning. To do so, we use the portfolio learning method, which involves your assembling evidence in a portfolio to show assessors how your experiential learning relates to the credential you are pursuing. When you create a Prior Learning Assessment portfolio you are presenting your experience forward as university-level learning related to the NAU Canada Online credential you want.

Please Note: The Prior Learning Assessment does not award credit for experience, or for the number of years in a job, for the number of workshops attended or for the type or level of position you hold.
