“The fundamentals I’m acquiring through my collegiate experience has catapulted my knowledge and understanding of communication, organizational dynamics, management, and leadership fundamentals essential to perform my job…”
NAU has helped me obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Management. Currently, NAU is mentoring me while I’m obtaining an MBA with emphasis in Human Resources. The fundamentals I’m acquiring through my collegiate experience has catapulted my knowledge and understanding of communication, organizational dynamics, management, and leadership fundamentals essential to perform my job in the United States Air Force as a supervisor, trainer, manager, and leader on various levels.
My pursuit of higher education has helped me through my career by understand the big picture within the organization. It’s extremely important to understand managerial inputs and the rippling effect these decisions may have internal and external to the organization–specifically how they impact the people. Additionally, it’s helped me understand the fundamental importance and application of communication in a dynamic workforce. The experience I have gained within NAU has elevated my managerial and leadership capabilities.
I have been privileged to serve in four distinct roles in my organization since 2012. I have served as Section Chief, Support Section Chief, First Sergeant, and Production Superintendent during my tenure. It’s my opinion that my leadership has seen me flourish in these roles and have given me an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities based on sustained job performance. I have no doubt in my mind that without the tutelage of NAU, I wouldn’t have had the success I’ve been able to achieve throughout my career thus far. I look forward to continuing my education as well as prospering in the Air Force.
