The online MBA program gives you the background you need to advance your business career without taking time away from the workplace.

As a graduate, you’ll be ready to:

Online MBA Classes and Curriculum

The online MBA degree consists of two academic requirements: master’s core courses and elective courses. In total, you must complete 10 courses and 45 credit hours to graduate.

MBA core courses include Managerial Accounting, Managerial Economics, Financial Management, Quantitative Methods for Management Decisions, Marketing Administration, Introduction to Leadership and Quality, and Strategy and Policy.

Online MBA Thesis Options

You may earn the degree with or without an MBA thesis.

  • Nonthesis option: You must satisfy all preparatory requirements and complete 31 hours of master’s-level core courses and 13.5 hours of electives.
  • Thesis option: You complete 31 hours of master’s-level core courses, 4.5 hours of electives, and 9 hours of thesis.

As part of the Strategy and Policy course, you participate in an in-depth case analysis. This satisfies the university’s requirement for a comprehensive program assessment.

Prerequisite Requirements for the Online MBA Program

You must meet certain business study requirements to gain acceptance to the online MBA program. There are two options available:

  • Option A: This is for students who completed undergraduate or graduate courses at an accredited two or four-year institution or from an institution recognized or accredited by an appropriate government or third-party institution. You must meet the following requirements:
    • Earned a C or higher in the courses
    • Successfully completed CLEP or DANTES examinations
    • Submitted an experiential learning portfolio
  • Option B: This is for students who do not have sufficient business coursework. You can complete the following courses:
    • Statistics
    • Economic Analysis
    • Accounting and Finance for Managers

You also need to demonstrate proficiency in computers and application software.

Each student will work with his/her adviser to select 13.5 hours of elective credit that best match their professional interests. These electives can be selected from any master’s courses not included in the MBA core courses, provided that the student meets any individual course prerequisites. Students wishing to pursue the MBA who have not completed sufficient undergraduate coursework in accounting, business finance, statistics and economics shall be required to choose the general emphasis.
